News from the Final SWL match of 2011

The last fixture was a tough one with the 3 other teams at the top of the Division,but the best turnout of the seasom(14) scored well to secure 3rd with 80 points,which will give us a solid middle-order place in the Final Table.

A substantial proportion of the score came from 5 athletes,with Lana Whatley on her last match before leaving for 2 years at University in Australia,Camilla Thrush and Pippa Wingate(PB SP 10.01) each winning twice and Dominique Blaize heading all her 4 individual events. Our other winner was our top U17 Nicole Kendall on her SWL debut where she won the PV at 2.40,tripled 10.18 and high jumped 1.45(a PB).Four other members appeared fo the first time in 2011 - Debbie Raymond,Tash Cook and newcomer Maxine Lavin - whilst U15 Laura Cook non-scored,clearing a PB PV at 2.30. Nicky Atkins,U17 Alice Clemens,Liz Richardson(debuting as a Vet 35),TM Clare Nelson and Claire McLeish completed the squad.
